รายวิชานี้มุงเน้นให้นักศึกษามีความเข้าใจหลักสถิติเบื้องต้นและชีวสถิติด้านการสาธารณสุข สถิติเชิงพรรณนา สถิติเชิงอนุมาน การเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูล การนำเสนอข้อมูล ความนาจะเป็น และการแจกแจงความนาจะเป็น การแจกแจงค่าสถิติของตัวอย่าง การประมาณค่าพารามิเตอร์ การทดสอบสมมติฐาน การวิเคราะห์ความแปรปรวน การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลแจงนับ การถดถอยและสหสัมพันธ์ สถิติศาสตร์ไม่อิงพารามิเตอร์ การฝึกปฏิบัติประมวลผลข้อมูลทางสุขภาพด้วยโปรแกรมเบื้องต้น

This course is designed for students about fundamentals of statistics and biostatistics for public health, descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, principles and procedures of data collection, data presentation, probability distribution, measurement of dispersion, parameter estimation and hypothesis testing, analysis of variance, analysis of numerical data, regression and correlation, non- parametric statistics and basical practices of health data processing.
